:: 400 F/C Ladder 10th & 14th July 2006

28 swimmers timed, great stuff, there are bigger clubs than Woodham who could not produce 28  400 times.
For some of you this was an exercise way beyond your experience, you all did very, very well , a terrific effort.!

:: Xmas Fun Gala Nov-2006 (To be confirmed)

Monday 27th November 2006 is the provisional date for our 'Xmas Fun Gala 2006'.

Confirmation and further details coming soon!!!

:: Summer Fun Gala Jun-2006

Monday 5th June 2006 the Club launched its second Swimming Gala, with our 'Summer Fun Gala 2006'.

View Placing and times online!!!

The Club and it's member's would firstly like to thank the volunteers, contributors, supporters, donators (Kass Delicatessen, Marsh Farm, Meadowcroft and South Woodham Pets) and Woodham Leisure Centre who's collated efforts helped make this a very successful event.

The club chairman Neil Dickens opened the evening by presenting this years 'Chairmans Award' to Trevor Greenway for his contributions to the club. Councillor Maureen Moulds attended the evening and donated the 'Members House Challenge' shield as continued backing and support for Woodham Swimming Club and our young community in Woodham and surrounding village’s.
Our 2 team captains Chloe Dickens (Great Whites) and Adam Jackson (Hammerheads) fought their corners and the evening saw both teams compete for every possible house point. The Hammerheads had the initial lead by winning the Life Saving rope throw at the PCT Steps for Change day. It was a text book finish and all down to the final race where the Hammerheads fought tough for maximum points. The evening ended with under 10 points between the teams and the 'Great Whites' took the 1st place on the podium.
Within just one club evening session we managed to achieve our target's, completing all 39 Events (only just!), with a good balance of Fun, Competitiveness, Organisation, Fund Raising. Being the Club's introductory Gala for some of the younger swimmers (including time keepingstarter blocks and multiple heats), we are additionally pleased with incorporating such competitive swimming activities during our Fun Gala evening.
We would like to offer our special thanks to all the swimmers that behaved in a highly commendable manner, showed respect, competitiveness and support for fellow swimmers. They certainly proved that the Club continues to be this friendly, enjoyable and progressive club. The swimmer's made our coaches proud, especially to have achieved such a progressive standard at an early stage in their swimming futures and breaking many of their personal best (P.B) times.
Our Swimmers are adding to their Club Medal(s), Award Certificate(s) and beating their times. These recent improved P.B times shows our Club coaching training programme is coming together and beginning to give the swimmers the results they have worked hard for. So Swimmers, keep up that training and target those P.B times next time!

:: Christmas Fun Gala Nov-2005

Monday 28th November 2005, the Club launched its first Swimming Gala, with our 'Christmas Fun Gala 2005' for members aged 16 and under.

View swimmer Placings and times online.

The Club and it's member's would firstly like to thank the overwhelming volunteers, contributors, donators (Doorsteps sandwich bar, Hair etcetera, Kass Delicatessen, Lisa Frances Beauty Salon, Marsh Farm,Mykells and South Woodham Pets), supporters and Woodham Leisure Centre who's collated efforts helped make this a very successful event.

Councillor Maureen Moulds attended the Swimming Gala as continued backing and support for Woodham Swimming Club and our young community in Woodham and surrounding village’s.

We would like to offer our special thanks to all the swimmers that behaved in a highly commendable manner, showed respect, competitiveness and support for fellow swimmers. They certainly proved that the Club has achieved one of its main initial goals within its first year to be this friendly, enjoyable and progressive club. The coaching staff have worked with the swimmers, trained and groomed them in a short period of time. The swimmer's made our coaches proud, especially to have achieved such a progressive standard at an early stage in their swimming futures.
Within just one club evening session we managed to achieve our target's, completing all planned 37 Race's, with a good balance of Fun, Competitiveness, Organisation, Fund Raising and even time for a little kick start to the Christmas spirit. Being the Club's introductory Gala for many of the swimmers (including time keeping and starter blocks), we are additionally pleased with incorporating such competitive swimming activities during our Fun Gala evening.
Our Swimmers now have their first Club Medal(s), Award Certificate(s) and recorded personal best (P.B) times to chase. Improving their P.B times will shortly be integrated within the Club coaching training programme. So Swimmers, not too much Christmas pudding during the festive season and school holiday's (especially the Dasher reindeer team, winners of the 100M freestyle relay) as Santa has plenty more work for you to do yet and we all know that Rudolph is normally his favourite reindeer.
